About

Writing has always been my therapy. I connect to words and feel them so deeply. Words tumbling around in my own mind remind me that there is still breath in my lungs; they remind me that I am still very much alive. When everything in the world feels like a meaningless hallow shell, the words that speak from my soul give me something solid and real to hold onto. They are my comfort and my rock when I cannot control the chaos going on around me.

I think that’s why I’ve always liked poetry…Because the poets were always able to capture something so much more tangible than a rhyme scheme or a story. They were able to articulate distinct emotions that aren’t clearly defined by this world. They were able to reach past reality into a depth of understanding far beyond our physical existence. Similarly, that’s why I love music. The rhythm and melodies alone are beautiful, but I truly fall in love with the lyrics. And when the music and the lyrics are weaved together, I swear that they break through the breach in such a way that our cognitive ability ceases to understand just how they move us.

And that’s why I love writing…Because I have fallen so head over heels for the powerful ability that mere words hold.
